Schwalm Autumn Motifs  (COL087)

Schwalm is a German hand made embroidery, found as early as the 17th century. The traditional style of embroidery is easily recognised by the profuse use of hearts and tulips with scalloped edges. Also there are cut and pulled lace-like fillings inside some of the design shapes. Woven Borders feature at times in traditional designs. This embroidery style could be found on clothing and table clothes and runners. Traditionally white thread on white fabric was used. Today colours are also used.

Oranges, Bronzes and shades of Gold!  This definitely makes autumn feel warm.  These motifs are easy to stitch out using the easy to follow instructions and placement techniques provided.  This versatile design can be used for cloths, cushion covers, table runners and much more. This design set consists of 6 motif designs which make up the whole Schwalm Motif as seen in the photo bellow.
